Brampton teacher charged with sexual exploitation of student

A 45-year-old Brampton school teacher has been charged after a 16-year-old student was sexually exploited, police say.

Peel police investigated an alleged sexual relationship between the teacher and student at Heartlake Secondary School in Brampton.

Douglas Dale of Brampton was charged on Tuesday with sexual exploitation.

Peel police Const. Harinder Sohi said Dale is a math teacher at the school and that the 16-year-old was his student.

Peel District School Board spokesperson Carla Pereira said Dale is on a paid leave and depending on the outcome of the investigation, he may be terminated from his teaching position.  (more...)
