The 2014 Bizarre Award: 'I'll never forgive you,' former Catholic school tutor tells prosecutor accusing her of sex with teen

GRAND RAPIDS, MI – It got so bad at one point the judge warned the attorneys he was about to “lose it.”

An aggressive and combative exchange took place between Assistant Kent County Prosecutor Helen Brinkman and Abigail Simon, the woman Brinkman is trying to convince a Kent County Circuit Court jury is guilty of four counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct with a 15-year-old boy.

Simon, a former tutor with Catholic Central High School, admits she and the boy engaged in sexual activity when she was 32 and he was 15, but she again and again, sometimes nearly hysterically, insisted the boy forced her to have sex.  (more...)
